The Primitive Methodist Chapel on Normanby Road, Owmby by Spital, was built in 1903 and in use as a doctor's surgery when this photograph was taken.

Entrance to the church is through the unbuttressed Norman tower with Early English work higher up.

SS Peter & Paul has a 3-bay Norman north arcade dating from c 1200.

The chancel was rebuilt in 1808 but reuses a late 13th century east window with geometrical tracery.

In contrast the east window of the north aisle has intersecting tracery.

Kelly's Directory of Lincolnshire 1919 states :-

"The church of SS. Peter and Paul is a building of stone partly of Norman date, consisting of chancel, nave, north aisle, vestry and an embattled western tower with pinnacles containing 3 bells:

the oldest portions of the church are the nave and aisle, both of Norman date, the chancel was built about 1808:

There are 200 sittings.

The register dates from the year 1700"

The embattlement and pinnacles mentioned in Kelly's Directory no longer survive.

White's Directory of Lincolnshire 1856 states :-

"The Church (St. Peter and St. Paul) is a modernised building, retaining some circular Norman arches.

It is a rectory, valued in K.B. at £9. 3s. 4d., and now at £233, having 240 acres of land in lieu of tithes.

The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster is patron, and the Rev. Joseph Green, M.A., is the incumbent, and has a neat residence, erected in 1844"

Font "is made from reused sections of a massive drum pillar, quite out of scale with anything which survives, and of uncertain date.

The topmost section is probably a reused and inverted capital of which one plain volute survives"
